War on Terror and the War in Iraq
I feel we must first and foremost support our troops and their
families both aboard and here at home! Certainly since we
have gone into Iraq, we must finish our job there. Iraq
does need stability and we will bear most of the burden of the
relentless costs of rebuilding it. But why Iraq? The
answer is still unclear to me and to many people in our country.
There were no weapons of mass destruction found and we can only
hope that the end result will be justified with a workable
democracy and peace will prevail.
When many still ask where is Osama Bin Laden, we must look to
the future and determine whether American would better benefit -
not as a world police force but as a leader for peace and
democracy. Our foreign policy should respect the diversity
of cultures, religions, races economic and political systems of
the world.
When I represent District 4 in Congress in Washington and if a
draft becomes an issue, I would not support it. Violence
only breeds violence.
I believe our best plan would be in a lateral move of
forming an alliance with other countries, working toward the
common goal to rid countries of terrorists in their own
countries, therefore reducing the risks of terrorism around the
world.
Terrorism should be a global effort, it effects the world and we
all want peace and a safe place to live and raise our family.
America should not be expected to fund a war on terrorism with
our money and our service men and service women.
